Spring Clean Your Mind

Hi friends,
I love the hopeful promise of spring. Even though the weather remains unpredictable, and sometimes it still feels like winter, it's during these few months that budding newness peeks through, reminding us of the beautiful circle of life and rebirth.
That inkling of change is what sparks a desire to clean, reorganize, declutter, and make room in every single corner of our homes, cars, closets, and even hard drives. It's a good urge to have! When we trim the excess, we make room for fresh life again. It's an important part of the process.
This same principle extends beyond your junk drawer and linen closet and applies to our hearts and minds, too. Sometimes, an intentional reset is what we need to feel our best and move into the rest of our year with clear-minded intentionality.
So, how do you do spring cleaning on your soul?
I'd start by asking yourself a few important questions that bring focus to your current state:
- What thoughts or worries am I carrying that I no longer need?
- What habits drain my energy?
- What helps me feel grounded, calm, and connected?
Use these as a framework for a journal entry or an honest conversation with a friend. Meditate on these on your next walk. Try to assess what needs to stay and what needs to go. You'll be shocked at how a reset can lighten the state of your heart and mind.
Take some time (even a few hours) away from your digital worlds and hectic responsibilities, slow down, and reset.

As author Anne Lamott wrote, “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” 

I invite you to include your mental and emotional health in your spring refresh routines. Don't ignore it. Take advantage of the “spring in the air.”
