More than just a gifting company
The Pearl Project brings together therapist-written guidebooks, question decks designed for deeper connection, and carefully chosen gift items that fit the occasion. We create gifts that go beyond beyond the usual “thinking of you” gift — we offer something that provides practical emotional support, deepen connection, and we help remind people that they are not alone.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
I’ve always known I wanted to do work that helped people. When I was younger, I considered nursing, teaching, and nonprofit work before ultimately becoming a therapist. I’ve now been a licensed marriage and family therapist for almost 20 years, working in both hospital and private practice settings; sitting with children, couples, families, and individuals through some of life’s hardest moments. This work has been deeply meaningful, but over time I felt a growing pull to explore a different way of helping people — one that lived outside the traditional therapy room.
Then, one night while chopping broccoli at my parents’ house, an idea came to me that would completely change the direction of my career. In 2022, I founded The Pearl Project with a simple but powerful vision: to support people through meaningful gifts. Think of it as a care package from a therapist, for life’s significant moments.
The Pearl Project began from a simple but deeply felt conviction: when people are walking through some of life’s most tender, overwhelming, and meaningful moments, they deserve support that feels thoughtful, beautiful, and actually helpful. I wanted to create something that went beyond the usual “thinking of you” gift — something that could offer emotional support, deepen connection, and remind people they are not alone.
What started as an idea grew into a mission to make high-quality mental health support more accessible through curated gifts for life’s significant moments. The Pearl Project brings together therapist-written guidebooks, question decks designed for deeper connection, and carefully chosen gift items that fit the occasion. It’s a way of saying, “I see you, I care about you, and you matter,” in a form that feels tangible and personal.
Honestly, I also think there is something a little magical about giving people a gift that is both beautiful and useful. We’ve all received those gifts that make us smile politely and then quietly re-home later. I wanted to create the opposite: gifts that uplift and support in memorable and lasting ways. Gifts that create a moment, open a conversation, or offer comfort when words are hard to find.
From this vision, The Pearl Project was born!
With love,
Jen
